“While big development projects capture the headlines, it’s the smaller neighborhood-scale renewal efforts that contribute daily to the improving quality of life in Bridgeport. After years of blight removal efforts, the city’s neighborhoods are experiencing a healthier environment brought about by these cleanup efforts. This healthier environment is manifest in the form of higher values, stable insurance premiums and increased public safety. We now are moving into a new phase of in-fill housing construction which, combined with increased housing demand, lower interest rates, and adjoining retail investments, is seeing both private and publicly supported housing rehabilitation taking hold. The work of BNF/BNT in nurturing the efforts of community organizations and private investors has been instrumental in the success to date and will be critical to our success going forward.”
